American Sabor: Latinos in U.S. Popular Music


CELEBRATING THE IMPACT OF LATINO CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE CANON OF  AMERICAN MUSIC

Organized around five American centers of Latino music production (NYC; LA; San Francisco; San Antonio; and Miami), this exhibit features bold colors, patterns and iconography reflective of Latino cultures.

Each city-section of the narrative includes introductory text atop iconic art, and a map that illustrates how migration played a key role in development of U.S. centers of Latino music production.

Activity Booths

Throughout the exhibit are sound-controlled spaces for interactives and audio-visual presentations, decorated using imagery derived from Mexican Guayabera shirt patterns.
