Boneworks Sculptures

The Natural History of monsters

Evocative of displays of bones found in natural history museums, the sculptures shown here are part of an exhibit about horror films. The sculptures are made of 100s of copies of an inexpensive plastic Halloween mask based on a muzzle worn by Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs.

Mass Production

To produce the sculptures, Curious Beast prototyped a set of building blocks, then instructed volunteers on how to build and combine them to form sculptures. No modifications were made to the masks, and the only hardware used was a single type of plastic nut and bolt assembly.
